life Coaching

If you’ve ever felt like you don’t know how to say no, are confused on which direction to go in life, aren’t sure how to form healthy boundaries with friends or a loved one, you may need coaching rather than therapy. Not everyone goes through struggles due to deeper issues that therapy is designed to work through. If this sounds like you, consider scheduling a consultation for a life coach.

You will meet with your coach virtually or over the phone to discuss the situations and circumstances you’re going through, much like a therapy session, but you will receive advice and guidance on how to reach your goals and maintain a healthy headspace. This is a great service for those who typically have a healthy mental space, but need to ensure they are taking action to improving or maintaining it.

Therapists

Born into a military family, grew up traveling and relocating around the United States, and was able to always enjoy riding and the outdoors wherever her family went. Upon settling in North Carolina, she became focused on competing in jumpers and decided to pursue riding at Sweet Briar College in Virginia. After transferring to Covenant College on Lookout Mountain, GA, and changing her focus to Psychology; Erin pursued her graduate degree in Marriage and Family therapy at Richmont Graduate University.

Starting her work with individuals struggling with eating disorders, Erin established her private practice in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 2010 and founded Chattanooga’s first equine assisted psycho therapy program with Georgiana Pollock at Rock Bluff Stables on Lookout Mountain. Erin's current focus is on developing equine assisted psychotherapy programs around the greater Chattanooga area and the southeast and supervising graduate students as they pursue their degrees and licensure.

On a personal note:

Aside from private practice and working on the farm, Erin also enjoys traveling, coaching and training horses and riders, rides competitively, and engages in the Chattanooga Community through non-profit participation and enjoying the beautiful trails.

Born in San Diego, California, Rachael Benson moved to Chattanooga in 2017, after living in San Francisco for four years. With a propensity to listen, show compassion and understand people’s hearts, even at a young age, Rachael’s love for healing and supporting others through their challenging journeys and struggles blossomed. Eventually, she sought to become a therapist in college and achieved a masters in Marriage and Family therapy from California State University, East Bay.

By weaving therapeutic techniques together to offer an integrative approach to focus on one’s mind, body and spirit, she seeks to nurture people’s inner strength and help them find satisfaction in their lives. Regardless of working with an individual, couples or families, Rachael’s goal is to guide people toward healthy functions they can implement in all areas of their lives.

On a personal note:

Rachael loves being outdoors, gardening, landscaping and immersing herself in nature. Nature offers her a comfort that helps her gain a deeper connection with herself. Working with her hands to create stained glass, paint, cook, fish and climbing are a few things she enjoys.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Anibel Hamilton spent most of her life growing up in Naples, Florida. She moved to the Chattanooga area in 2016 to attend Lee University; she plans to attend graduate school in Atlanta to receive a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. However, she and her husband moved back to Chattanooga after the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

Coming from a legacy of therapists, with her grandmother being one and her own mother, Anibel started learning about therapy and varying concepts at a young age. With a strong foundation and a heart for people who are struggling, choosing to become a therapist was natural for her. Anibel desires to help all people strive for connection and growth. Her goal is to walk along with people and what burdens them, providing strength, endurance, teaching patience and showing them kindness so they are empowered to be their authentic self.

 On a personal note:

As a lover of traveling, coffee and anything sweet or savory, Anibel also loves dogs, specifically Australian shepherds. When she’s not working as a therapist she is also a dog breeder. She hopes to utilize dogs in her therapy sessions for high stress situations.

 Equine Therapy & Coaching

This service is offered by Erin Rayburn at different rates with Rayburn Equestrian.

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Learning is a ground-based approach utilizing horses to empower individuals, families, groups, and couples to find their own solutions, healing, and growth. This model of therapy is facilitated by a team of trained professionals who are equipped to perform psychotherapy services and are certified through the EAGALA model.

Horses are unique to the therapeutic process because of how they are as animals living in herd settings just as people also live in communities. Horses, being prey animals with rather evolved limbic systems, are direct communicators, and often will mirror or respond to the relational energy that is in their environment, whether from people, horses, or other environmental factors. This is what makes them effective with working with people, because of the dynamic interplay between horse and human, individuals will have their own unique experience and be able to work on issues in their own lives in a safe, interactive environment. This allows individuals, groups, families, and couples to try on new solutions for their life, and gain powerful and impactful insight.

Coaching

Sports Performance Coaching is meant to enhance your mental game when competing. It is designed to enhance your focus, execution, clarity, and performance while mitigating anxiety and distractions that decrease your ability to perform at an optimal level.

How it works:

I will meet with you via phone, FaceTime, or in-person to consult with you about your needs and how your mental game interacts with your performance. We will break down your process into clear achievable goals, then we will use techniques to create more focus, clarity, and sustained concentration. Techniques will also be geared towards reducing anxiety so that you can be more focused. We will simultaneously be breaking down less adaptive neuro-pathways that do not support this process and rebuilding more adaptive neuro-pathways that support this goal through imagery, breathing, visualization, and goal setting.
